What does the program consist of?
The program is limited to 25 active volunteers, so space availability is subject to
availability. Due to high demand, we manage a waiting list. Through our orientation,
training, and evaluation process, selected volunteers will have the opportunity to
participate in key areas, such as:
Playroom assistance for patients.
Distribution of basic necessities, materials and medical equipment. Accompaniment to visits within the hospital.
Support in the organization and distribution of donations.

Collaboration in fundraising efforts.
Participation in events inside and outside the hospital.
Support in the administrative area.
Participate in different programs of the Foundation.
Volunteer Program:
We appreciate your interest in being part of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico at the University Pediatric Hospital (HOPU). Our Volunteer Program (PV) offers the opportunity
to make a difference in the lives of our patients by contributing to a variety of activities in
and out of the hospital.
Requirements to be a volunteer:
Minimum age: 18 years old.
Time Commitment:
Continuous availability for at least 1 year, with more than one day per week and a minimum of 4 hours per day. Volunteering must be at least 4 days a month.
Required documentation:
Complete the application and go through an eligibility interview.

Be a student in a branch of Health.
Submit a letter of recommendation from a professor.
Health certificate.
Negative criminal record with compliance with Law 300.

Vaccination certificate. ​
Hours of Operation:
The volunteer program operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in shifts from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 5:00, with some special activities on weekends.
